Resin Bound Driveway, Patio and Pathway Kits
Resin driveway FAQs
How long does a resin driveway last?
If it’s installed properly (by one of our expert installers) you can expect a lifespan of much longer than our up to 25 year warranty.
What is a resin bound driveway?
A resin driveway is made from a blend of natural aggregates and a resin binder. Installed right, it’s stronger than asphalt, more flexible than concrete and easier to maintain than block paving.
How much does a resin driveway cost?
If your old drive needs removing and a new base installing, it will be around £120-£160 per m². Where you are, the shape of your driveway and any patterns or borders can affect this price.
How do I clean a resin driveway?
Vuba resin driveways don’t hold dirt like traditional driveways. An occasional jetwash which will drain through the permeable base should be all most people need.
How does it handle extreme temperatures?
Vuba driveways were developed in the UK to handle anything the weather can throw at them - and more. Once installed and cured they can handle being baked in 40°C heat and repeatedly frozen and thawed with no problems at all.
How long will my install take?
It depends on the size of your driveway, and the size of the install company. Expect a smaller company to install no more than 150 m² in a day. A large company might install as much as 450 m². It’s worth bearing in mind that you won’t be able to walk on it for at least 48 hours after the installation is done, and you won’t be able to drive on it for at least a week.
What’s the difference between a Vuba Approved Installer and a local installer?
We know our approved installers very well, and we’ve worked with them for some time. Local installers are new to Vuba so we haven’t seen so many of their projects yet, but we still vet them for quality before we agree to supply them.
What base should a Vuba driveway be laid on?
For the best results, the longest lifespan and the full warranty, we always recommend using a VubaMac base. Permeable concrete or asphalt work too, although not as well as VubaMac. It is possible to lay a Vuba resin driveway over an existing concrete or tarmac driveway, but it may need repairs and the results won’t be as good as a proper base.
Why should I choose a VubaMac base?
VubaMac is designed to work with Vuba resin bound driveways. The layers blend together and work as one to give you the most flexible and durable surface.
Is Vuba just for driveways?
No. It’s also great for commercial spaces, resin bound paths, patios and any other surfaces you need.
