TRACEY GLEW

CEO of FeRFA

Tracey Glew is Founder and Managing Director of The Preparation Group, established in 1991, and has more than three decades of experience across the flooring and mechanical surface preparation industries.

Her career combines extensive commercial and operational experience with a longstanding commitment to raising technical standards, developing industry skills and improving professional competency. In growing The Preparation Group, Tracey has worked at the point where product specification meets real-world installations, developing a deep understanding of the relationship between correct surface preparation, system performance and successful flooring outcomes.

Tracey has also played an active role in the development of the wider, and related, industries for more than two decades. Since 2002, she has been a Council (later, Board) Member of FeRFA, The Resin Flooring Association, becoming Vice Chair in 2014 and serving as its first female Chair from 2016 to 2018. In 2022, she was appointed CEO of FeRFA, where she continues to work across manufacturers, contractors and technical specialists to strengthen standards, education and competency within the resin flooring and surface preparation sectors.

Her work in skills development led to the development of the creation and establishment of the NVQ Level 2 Surface Preparation pathway, as well as the piloting and delivery of it as part of the recognised and accredited industry training. Recognising the importance of practical, technically robust education, Tracey established The Preparation Group’s purpose-built Training School in Lincoln, creating a dedicated environment for hands-on training, demonstrations and continued professional development. She has also previously served as a Board Member of The Hire Association of Europe, (HAE) and The Contract Flooring Association, (CFA).

Tracey brings a combination of technical understanding, practical industry experience and strategic leadership, alongside a career-long commitment to knowledge sharing and advancing best practice across the sector and beyond.
